Field and Eligibility: Limited to 72 players with NWGA members having first priority. The NWGA Invitational is a two-day stroke play event open to all NWGA members and non-NWGA members residing in Davidson and outlying counties.
Non-NWGA members must be female amateur golfers meeting the following
requirements: (1) meet the USGA policy on transgender individuals (2) have an
active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course, and (3) be 18 years of age or older. Handicap Index limit is 23.0 per player.
Amateurs must meet the USGA definition of an amateur golfer. Persons
applying for reinstatement to amateur status are not eligible. All
applications will be reviewed by the TGA to verify that each entrant has an
official USGA Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course.
Format: Play will be contested at 36-holes of stroke play.
Flights: The total number of flights will be dependent on the total number of players competing. Players will be flighted on the first day based on their Handicap Index with all flights having as close to the same number of players as possible.
Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the Overall Champion Gross/Net as well as 1st and 2nd place Gross/Net in each flight. Prizes will also be awarded to Medalist Low Gross for round one, Fewest Putts for round one, (A&B players), Closest to the Hole each day (A&B players). Team Trophy will be determined by NWGA Member Club with the lowest four (4) net scores for round one.
Specialty Prizes: Mamie Moore Trophy will be awarded to the NWGA Member age 50 - 59 with the low gross score for round one. Mrs. Oscar Noel Award will be awarded to the NWGA Grandmother with the low net score for round one. Edith Zucker Award will be awarded to the NWGA member age 60 and older with the low two day gross score for the championship.
Onsite Check-in (Wednesday, August 7): Check-in will be prior to play in the Pavilion at Vanderbilt Legends Club beginning at 7:30 AM.
